Development of Modular DC-DC Converters for Low-Speed Electric Vehicles Fast Chargers

To increase the utilization of Low-Speed Electric Vehicles (LS-EVs), rapid recharging EV’s battery pack turn out to be essential. This permits reduced charging times, greater vehicle utility, and broader adoption LS-EVs. paper presents a modular Input-Series Output-Parallel (ISOP) DC-DC converter for LS-EVs fast chargers. A generalized small-signal analysis applicable any multimodule connection (Input-Series Input-Parallel Output-Series (ISIP-OSOP) is introduced. The employed topology based on Dual Active Bridge (DAB). Nonetheless, single bridge utilized at primary side, modularity concept applied high-frequency transformer second where modules ISOP. In presented system, 3-modules are each module rated 1.5 k W achieve desired power rating, which 4.5 . process achieved from single-phase outlet. However, due high output current, approach required avoid losses. Uniform power-sharing through direct current sharing control, ensuring stability without need input voltage loops, unlike conventional ISOP converters. fact that proposed configuration uses only capacitor avoiding inherent instability problem caused by control. controller examined using 3-module converter, controlled following reflex algorithm. Simulation results Matlab/Simulink platform provided elucidate considering parameter mismatches, equally shared among three modules.
